anyone have any experiences with the british .223 mags? ive seen them in gun shows.
Yes, they are good mags. I bought several of them about a year ago, and they work as good as GI mags. I still prefer the aluminum GI mags though. :p

Just sent six of them to my son in afghanistan. I tested them, put green followers in them and then tested again. Seem to work just fine both ways.

I just don't like the feel of the steel mags going into my Bushie. Probably just me, and there is nothing wrong going on. Just a quirk in my thinking. :D
And, they are slightly heavier. Other than that, I have never had any problems with them. :p

How come you sent them, are the troops out there not getting enough equipment?

Have two. They work fine in my BM M4gery.
I have more of the Labelles, so use those mostly, if not just the BM 10 rndrs.

They are only issued 7 mags, the more the merrier , so I sent him six and he has acquired several more. Can't have too much ammo, they split them up in his squad.

They function fine if you have green followers, otherwise some work and some dont if you leave the black followers in. I dont like them in my gun because they scrape the finish off the inside of the mag well where as aluminum on aluminum dosent do anything. Not a bad thing if you have a Gov't issue gun that can be replaced whenever, but if you scrape the finish off, you can get rust spots. I still use them when im just plinking, I just dont use them for tactical reloads when Im practacing tactics and shooting.

Been doing fine with my british mags. Just require a good firm slap to get them to seat on a closed bolt but other than that I can't complain. Work fine and they even have those black followers.

Ammoman states that the British black followers are the same as the American green!

I Brought 4 Brit Mags From Midway. Came With Green Followers,
Black Steel, With "ENGLAND" Label On The Mag Body. The Floor
Plate Had Labeled: "Imperial Defence Services"
"-------England--------"
On The Bottom Of Mag. Worked In My Dawoe DR200. Did Not
Work Well[At First] In The AR180B. However, Seems To Be Working Now That The Rifle Is Breaking-In. Have Not Tried This Mag In My Bushmaster AR-15 Or Bushmaster "Assault Rifle".

Mine all work great. They are quality and nearly identical to the USGI mags. Buy with confidence.

Great mags though!!!!
