Came home today to a hot house. Checked all the usual suspects, power on, breakers etc... After further review I found the following...

No air flow from vents....Outside unit fan running...compressor came on while I was watching but I diden't watch it run long. Dryer iced up on the commpressor. Checked the unit under the
house. Pulled off air circulating fan cover, checked fan and it's not bound up or anything, found coil completly iced over, very thick along with line sets going into side of unit. I turned off everything and it's setting now so the coil can thaw before I check anything else.

What can I be looking at...circulating fan motor bad, controls, short charge,.....any ideas?????

Is your outside coil clean? If not clean it. Cottonwood season, ya know.

Otherwise freon in low. Need a charge.

ditto what citizen said, check your freon. Low freon can cause icing!
