OK so you ask why ??? I have never been unhappy with any firearm I have purchased before except 1, but I knew it was a cheap knockoff . Anyway, I just got back into High Power shooting at Camp Smith in New York, Hudson Valley High Power Rifle League. When I was invited down to shoot last year I pulled my Colt Match H-Bar out of the back of safe, been there about 10 years or so.I was tempted to use my M1A , but my friend said to use my Colt first. ANyway for not shooting competition I faired pretty well , even hit Bull-eyes at 600 yards, I was ecstatic, my eyes haven't failed me yet. MY wife seeing that I was going to keep up with the shooting the following 2004 year decided to buy me a National Match M15A2 and gave it to me on Christmas Day. Weather here in NY was terrible till last month for shooting at my Local Gun Club Range. Well When I did get to shoot it I could not hit paper at 50 feet, YES 50 FEET. I had to adjust the rear sight all the way to left to even get on paper and NO where near center paper. I took the rifle to the point of Purchase, Local gun store and they agreed since the rifle was Brand Spanking New, I should call ArmaLite and tell them about the problem, I did they told me to ship back the Upper for Inspection. When the upper was returned to me the rear sight was still all the way to the left, I was certainly puzzled they could have adjusted the sights without Re-Adjusting the rear sight to start from scratch. Well I called them and they asked me if I received the Factory information paperwork about front sight problems needing to be adjusted and the told me after they promised to pay the shipping to return the rifle that they would NOT now since I could have adjusted the sight myself. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO , They agreed the front sight could be off, and that they DO NOT SHOOT for any type of accuracy at all , Where is the F_ _KING QUALITY CONTROL ARMALITE ?????????? First of all it's brand new, it can't hit paper at 50 feet, they screw me on return shipping ad then tell me to have a nice day, The top of my head exploded. Every LongArm I have ever purchase did I ever have a problem like this ??? NO. Well will I ever recommend a Armalite to anyone NO NO NO NO NO NO NO Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. SHitty quality Control, shitty Customer service, and just PURE DISGUST here with them. I reassembled the rifle and have it on consignment for sale at my Local gun store. SO in my Opinion NEVER BUY A ARMALITE THEY SUCK
Every New Colt AR I ever bought shot great the first time . Thank You Colt , Keep up the Great work

Sorry you had the problems you had. I really do not think
that Armalite "sights your gun in" and probably no other
company does either, unless you buy a custom gun and send
them your scope and ask them to. While your findings were
a surprise, it could happen with any one of many companies.
A small effort on your part could have saved you a lot of grief.
The following is a link to the sight in set up and it works with
any of them.

Sorry to hear your gripe. Never had a problem with mine nor any one else I know that has an Armalite. You may want to check your cheek placement on the butt. You are placing the tip of your nose to the handle correct? Just a few thoughts about your shooting habits that may contribute to the problem possibly. Good luck.

Body Bagger , it was definitely the front sight that was way off, Armalite screwed me plain and simple on the shipping charges, I will never purchase another of their products.

I'll tell you, I sent my Pre-Ban M1A back to Springfield Armory for some minor work because I wanted to start using it at the CMP shoots, Not only did they strip my rifle, Re-do the bedding, Re-Do the trigger for me. They sent it back to me FREE OF CHARGE , and sent a note stating Good Luck at the Shooting Competitions , They charged me $ 0.00 Dollars for all the work done.

NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE, not bad for a rifle i purchased in 1985

I did have them install a new barrel 6 years ago on the rifle, but when I called them they treated me like GOLD,Peggy at S.A. is the best
