I was going to buy a big supply of brass.I hope they will set some aside for us hand load guys next time around.
But i think it will work out .This is just new and nobody really has a real good feel for the market and don't want to go hog wild on production. That is just my 2 cents.

AIC, you're link doesn't work. I just found out that this dinky house near my dad's office is or was their St. Charles location. If they're still open I'll have to stop in there
[edit] they are. Just got an e-mail after I posted this. Woohoo.

That's about half what I've been seeing. If they start selling it for that, I would expect that the demand for these rifles would increase. :)

Called the local Graf & Sons and he said it will be about 6 mos for the bullets and he expects the ammo to follow

Guinny, i just talked with Graf & Sons Inc, next ammo shipment expected end of July. They are in fact getting a feel for the market as i was told.
You can also place a back order, which i am going to do for some brass.

I didn't talk to the shop in Mexico, MO so you definately have the scoop. I plan on stopping in there over the next two weeks so I'll bring that up in conversation

I believe this may be my first time posting on this board. Some of you may know me, but for those who don't I am a collector and contributor to several other Arisaka collector forums.
To the topic of Ammo.
I have not had opportunity to try the new commercial ammo. And I do not reload. I buy my (reloaded) ammo from Mac McCurdy in Guymon Okla. I like his ammo for several reasons.
1st. We live in the same state and I see him at gunshows.
2nd. His ammo is closer to original specs. IE: Spitzer military type bullets, instead of round nose hunting type (as like Norma). IMO, closer to original bullistics as intended.
3rd. Better price. I get mine from Mac in person for $15. a box. 2 boxes for the price of 1 at Norma prices. Of coarse shipping add to the price if bought by mail. But still cheaper than Norma.
4th. NEVER had a misfire.
And last but not least, Mac is a nice guy who is a felow Arisaka collector. He also makes the BEST repro slings for ALL Types.
Mac does this stuff on the side of his regular job, and sometimes runs low (or out) of inventory. But if you need some good cheaper ammo, maybe give him a try.
You can reach him via the net at: macsguns@ptsi.net

Glad to be aboard. I'm BY NO MEANS the brightest blulb on the Arisaka collector tree, but I'm happy to try to help if I can.

Even with shipping costs, that would still be much cheaper than the alternative. I assume that he has 6.5 and 7.7?
Oh, btw. :welcome: to the board.
