I think Model 1 Sales and Fultan Armory sell those.

Fulton is probably the best resource for "classic" styled AR15s.
Model 1 still selling them Epi?

Are the Model 1 uppers good quality? I was thinking of getting one of those.

I've had two of their uppers. I had a CAR-style upper (kit actually) with an 11.5 heavy/5.5 welded flashsuppressor. For a short barrel, it was really accurate out to 200-250 yards. It just didn't have a lot of oommph when it got there. I had some of the classic shorty problems that were solved in part by adding a new extractor and spring, along with a D-Fender, a different buffer, and a little FCG work to eliminate hammer resistance (it was slapping/dragging real bad.
The other was a 24" varmint upper (bull barrel w/ flat top). It was nice enough, but never shot the way I thought it ought to, even though I followed the break in procedure and tired lots (LOTS) of different brands/loads.
Right now I'm using an M4gery mutt that's mostly DPMS, but assembled by the local gun mechanic. It's less than a Model 1 equivilant and has worked flawlessly, even on a diet of crappy ammo.
Just my experiences.

Model 1 carries good stuff. I dont know what brand, but the adds look alot like those for Rock River, so maybe its their stuff marketed under Model 1's name like DSA is doing? :dunno:

I'm late w/a response to this thread, but, to my knowledge, all the A1 "kits" that are being sold these days are basically Colt takeoffs from new guns. CDNN Investments has them, and Kiesler's did, tho I can't find them on Kieslers new web site.
Haven't seen the barrelled uppers, but from posts from guys who have gotten them, they are essentially brand new.
I have bought the bolt/carrier assy, the cocking handle, and buttsock kits that CDNN sells, which presumeably came off the same pieces as the barrelled uppers, and they all looked like unused, test fired only, stuff.:D
