Hydraulic buffer...

I was talking with a guy at work today wh was on the Army shooting team, and he had mentioned to me that there was a hydraulic buffer replacement for the standard plug and spring buffer. Anybody used one, seen one, know where to get one, and if it eliminates all the gritty sounds that you normally get when you pull back the charging handle of a well used ar15/m16? How is the buffer maintenance wise compared to a standard buffer?
