Thinking about this as a daily carry...

Spyderco C45 Rescue Jr 79mm - Orange Handle

The heavily textured FRN handle provides a non-slip surface for a secure grip, even when wet! Spyderco finished the edge of this fantastic knife with the ever awe-inspiring SpyderEdge, a full serration that makes even the most challenging cutting task simple and the Rescue Jr.'s metal pocket clip makes carriage worry-free.

Knife Specs: Blade Steel: VG-10, Edge Length: 2 5/8 inch, Blade Length: 3 1/8 inch, Closed Length: 4 1/8 inch, Overall Length: 7 1/8 inch

=============

I think I'd have much more use for a knife like this.
And not be hassled for having it.
The only thing I don't like about it is how soon the deepest serration starts by the tip. I'd like it back a little farther.

The emerson SARK looks better though.

Would like the serrations to cover more of the blade though.
But this looks like the best so far at cutting someone out and not impaling them due to the curvature.
However, I've found the smaller the end, the easier it is to accidentally stick between ribs or the like.
So back to #1 choice.

Saw one that was about ideal, but can't find it. It had a yellow handle.

No, but seems like a good choice. Plus it's pretty overt! ;)

Yeah, just like me.
So far the first one seems like the best. I can file down the serrations back until I like it.
And w/my luck, I usually need to be able to cut things (people, horses) free.
But if one would need to defend oneself, that'd make quite the "slicer and dicer".

284 has a good idea there, as a former LEO (former lots of other jobs also, I'm embarrassed to say) I am paranoid about getting myself and others out of seat belts, etc. in a hurry. Watched, and worse yet listened to two people burn in car fires, one as a kid in the 50's, one in the '70's on duty , horrible doesn't begin to cover it. When you cannot possibly do anything but hope they die quickly. And it seems to take an awfully long time.
One of the reasons I refuse to fly since they got silly about knives.

My neck knife is a half serrated delica for just that reason. But 284's solution looks like a better one to me !

When it comes to rescue knives, aka seat belt slicers, I can think of no better knife than a serrated Spderco. I am currently a LEO so this is something that is always on my mind.

I use this one on a daily basis. Mine's not so purty anymore though.
The belt clip is a nice touch and the serated edge is a good backup when the forward edge goes away.
