Sometime today (7/6) the Senate will begin consideration of S. 2062, a bill to reform class-action lawsuits.
This bill is a major priority for the Republican Party, and it is for this reason that our old friend, Senator Feinstein, is going to attempt to attach an amendment to this legislation that will reauthorize the "Assault Weapons Ban".
It is vitally important that you take 5 minutes this morning and contact the Washington offices of your two Senators, encourage them to vote against this amendment, and let them know that passage of this amendment into law is intolerable, even if it means that the overall legislation reforming class-action suits fails.
Mention the bill by name: S. 2062

Republican or Democrat; doesn't matter. Call. You folks in California, make damned sure that Feinstein's office is sufficiently annoyed today.
Those posters here who are members of the Republican Party also need to make a call to the headquarters of the National Republican Party, and let them know that the sunset of the Assault Weapons Ban is of the highest priority, even if it means the failure of other legislation. The RNC's number is:
(202) 863 - 8500
You folks who are registered Democrat, make sure that your voice is heard in the Democratic Party and in the offices of Democratic Senators, even if you haven't pushed the lever beside a Democrat's name in years.
5 minutes. That's all it takes to call both Senators.
