Minimum magnification required to see "through" front sight?

On a 16" A3 flat top, does anyone know what the minimum magnification required is to see through the front sight?

:cents:I have a 2X Aimpoint on my flat-top...the front sight is still visible, but it's pretty well "fuzzed." I have no problems tracking a target across it. If you're talking "making it disappear," you're likely talking 4X or more. :cool:

Thanks! I actually ended up trading it for an A2, so I have no more worries about the front sight. For some reason, I really prefer the look and sight height of the A2 anyhow.
