Finally Got to Try Out My New 2X Aimpoint

A while back I posted a request for information on the Aimpoint 2X Comp C optic. Based in part on the input from this forum, I purchased one...and I'm quite happy I did!

I received the thing a while back, but couldn't get out to the range to use it till recently. She mounted up to my AR just as pretty as you please. I do need to get the higher mount, though. Till then, I'll use the riser block I have.

On the range, the thing is the HEAT! It takes a bit of getting used to...keeping both eyes open and all. A lot like with the ACOG. Still, a little practice is all it takes. My 50th birthday has long since come & gone and my eyes just 'ain't what they was.' So the extra magnification helps! It took me a little bit of no time to get her sighted in and then the fun began. Acquiring the target is cake with it. Shots out past 300m from kneeling or sitting on human-size targets are no problem. And, with both eyes open, follow-up shots are FAST! Let's just say that the gun & scope combo will out-shoot the owner all day long!

The best part...the price. Just over $400.00! That's about half the price of an ACOG or 1-3X CQT Leupold!:cool:

I know all too well how much it costs for college...put myself, both our sons and my wife through college! BUT!!! You'll have a larger & better gun collection in the long run with a degree! Hangin there!!!;)

oh I'm hanging... and I keep telling myself that.. I bust my balls cus I want a job.. actually I want money... but.. thats mainly cus I want a house/guns/wife.. etc... I'll be a sophomore with a Computer Engineering major.. 3.9 GPA... NCSC.. 3 terms honor roll... and I have a near surefire internship with Intel for next summer working in clean rooms.... so.... I should be good to go come graduation :D

I think I may just pick up an Aimpoint next moth. See how it compares to EOTechs. Plus, I think there is nothing more badass than an Aimpoint ML2 with an A.R.M.S. #22M68 mount and riser block! :jerkoff:

Im looking at getting a Reflex with the 4.3 moa dot that our SF's use. I found it and the mount for 380 shipped.... hehe.. no I wont tell where it is till I order mine so they dont just magically run out of stock. :D

SOCOM hasn't used the Reflex II in almost 5 years. They are still out there somewhat, but ACOGs (is this what you are getting?) Aimpoints and EOTechs are about the only ones now used.

$380 is kind of high for just the Reflex II and no mount.

380 is with the mount. If they dont use the reflex anymore why is it still a part of the SOPMOD kit? Im looking at aimpoints too, cant decide if I went aimpoint, if id want a 2x or not, compact or not, Just seemed like the reflex was one of hte more affordable sights and a place to start for me. But you RJ know a million times more than I do. So if you have another suggestion for me please tell me. Id definetely more than consider it. :up:

actually.. same place has the eotech 550 for $350 for the Ncell version... or 395 for AA version... now Im torn.. i might have to go your route RJ.. it doenst take much to push me off the cliff.. so go ahead and give me the nudge. :D

Yeah, the military has switched to the Surefire M962 series weapon light and I dont think the military uses a vidible laser at all any more. THe Reflex got shot off the board pretty much right after the SOPMOD kit was formed in favor for just using the ACOG. Only guys I have ever seen use the Reflex are Air Force CSAR teams.
