Got a Bushy standard rifle with an A-1 style upper (sights) but the A-2 shell deflector "hump" cast into the receiver. Always wanted a M-16 clone and now am seeing old A-1 upper assemblies for sale (CDNN). I'm left handed so rebarrelling with an A-1 front end on my bushy upper should be the most cost effective way to go and also result in fewer hot brass burns on my neck unless I use one of those old style snap in deflectors with a complete A-1 upper assembly (like the ones CDNN is selling) -- which would be more authentic. All this would happen after AWB death, of course. So should I get a complete upper and a snap on brass deflector (haven't seen one since basic in '84) or slap a front end on my Bushy? CDNN has upper halves for 400. Anyone have an idea of what an A-1 front end would cost?
