I've got an M15 A2 carbine with muzzle brake. Is it going to be easy to get the brake off and put a flash hider on there?
Shooting it is just too loud for minimal reduction in recoil.

Not too easy for laymen. I'd let a smith do it!

fudge. I was hoping it was blind pinned on there.

A blind pin shouldn't be attempted by a layman either. IMHO
How would you intend on backing the pin out after grinding the welded face off (of course if you can find it)?

Isn't the "pin" really a screw and the top is just covered with weld goop?
If that's the case, I could just drill into the weld goop 'til I hit pin and then use a really small drill bit to make a hole for an easy out.

The pin goes in tangent to the threads and is blind at the end of the pin.
It is also into the threads. You can grind it out and split the brake, but
you have to be careful not to damage the threads. You will have to dress
the threads up with a die nut before using them. There are several threads
on the ARF covering this.
"How to remove an AR-10 Pinned and welded Muzzle Break: The Split and Pry Method!" is the title of the thread in the AR10 section--page two
If you are not comfortable with this, have a smith do it.
