Anyone tried any of the .223 frangible U.S.G.I. 50 grain ammo that's out there?

Never tried it is supposed to be less pentrating than standard ball. Dont see why that matters since .223 dosent penetrate a wall as deep and 9mm hollow points from a subgun. Just some pointless gimmic crap. I could see it being good for indoor ranges though.

Not a gimmick, but it is intended for range and training exactly as you say. The bullets are made from powdered copper and tin that are blended, compressed and baked to near melting point. The advantage in training is less potential for injury from ricochets. The projectiles crumble into powder upon striking a hard target like a steel plate.
