ok guys mabe you've seen my post in the general discussion about the Carbon 15. Well for reasons of reliability (I actually got a chance to try it, couldnt get through 1 magazine without FTF's) I have decised to go ahead and get a run of the mill AR 15 rifle. Now The Bushmasters and Colts apparently are evereyones faves as well as the Armalites. Unfortunatly I dont have the green to get one of these. Then as I was sadly waiting for the possibility of my Tax refund (and having to explain why I spent it in a gun to my fiancee) , I spot a really nice rifle in a pawnshop. Now I look it over and the guy let me strip it and it all looks Kosher. I do have questions though.
1) the Reciever is marked PCR99 I can't find this gun on the OLYARMS site.
2) It has the A3 sites (though the previous owner didnt pawn it with the carry handle. Is it possible to get this part alone? Or mabe flipup sites?
3) the foregrips are different , actually theres this metal tube in place of the guards (I guess the owner wanted a free floating barrell system? Anybody have opinions?
4) the price was $850 but I taled the guy down to $550 and said he'd throw in some magazines (theyre USGI).
5) I saw that Olympic Arms has a lifetime warranty even if I am not the original owner. Will this apply even if the foregrips have been changed to this tube?
6) the Upper had what looks like an "A" stamped (or rather raised) just behind the ejection port. Does this marking have any significant meaning?
If anybody has info on any of these questions please post em. This rifle looks cool and I'd like to join the AR club!!!
