Can the Carbon rifle stock be installed onto the back of the pistol? Does it work?

No, they purposely leave the catch for the stock, off the pistol versions, so they cannot be attached. They are legally created as pistols (serial #s are listed as pistols), and putting a stock on one would create a short barrelled rifle.

Having an unregistered SBR is a federal offense and punishable by prison. ;)

yea that'd be a no no.. howevor.. one could take a stripped lower after the ban sunsets and register it as a PISTOL reciever.. then you may freely at your will change the configuration between a pistol and a rifle, howevor you must do this in such an order that you dont create an illegal weapon in the process of doing so... I forget what in the assault weapons ban prohibits from doing this now. but I heard it can be done later... :D after the 14th

only disadvantage is if you were hoping for the carbon model... but this provides an alternative

I'm glad to see this topic. I got a Bush Master pistol and was thinking of getting a rifle parts kit so I could switch the receiver from a pistol to a rifle and back again. Is this possible? And what is the "catch for the stock" that RJ mentoined? I figured if I could do this it would save me hundreds of dollars instead of buying an assembled rifle.
Thanks
John

I beleive its a bored hole on the threaded end of the reciever if I'm not mistaken... just below the threaded buffer tube hole... isn't that it RJ?

Thanks JE. I think I might be able to use mine then, under the buffer tube that sticks out the back is a piece of shaped plastic that is screwed on to cover something up (I never removed it yet) and give it a finished look. The screw is between 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch down from the bottom of the tube. Now I'm going to have to take it off to check it out.
Thanks again.
John
