How are you braving the winds & rain Kurt?

Power just came back on after being off for 36 hrs. I thought the modem in this box got fried, but I'm back online again with a new cord. Lots of cleanup to do, branches down (no trees!), and general wind damage. Lost the old barn, and the carport on my office trailer here behind the Swamp.
Next...Ivan, in 1 week. This is a large storm out of the Southern seas, the biggest in recorded history starting that low off the African coast. Track appears to be nearly identical to Frances at this time. We can't stand another this soon. Thx to all for your concerns!

Lot's of wind and some rain, not much else. We got it worse when she finally entered the Gulf. We got that 5 o'clock feeder band and got some tornadic cloud movement, but once again blessed.
Sorry to hear about your barn and your structural damage Kurt. :( Did your glucose stay good during it all? I thought about ya as it went through the Tampa area...
My brother lives in Jacksonville and got slammed pretty good by all the wind and tornados from the 1-3 o'clock feeder bands! He lives with a military buddy up there and they lost a tree, etc.
Ivan the Terrible is gonna piss me off!

Glucose levels were too high. I think it was the inactivity. Lot's of trees down in my area. My neighbor lost a BIGGUN, but it missed his house. I had 1/2 a tree fall right next to the house but it missed both it and the A/C unit.

YEEHAW! Ivan's revised track shows it moving out into the Gulf. Everyone down here is so weary from all this weather. Looks like we caught a great break. Thx.

I've seen A LOT of that, boarding up for #3. Now it's a non-issue. Be thankful though, because the hard work is over, and you're prepared. Take care of that head, mine aches like hell if I burn the top of my head. That's why I'm usually in a cap or do-rag when outside, but I DON'T have a farmer tan.

Don't feel like taking this crap down now. May see if there's any activity in the tropics next week before messing with it. :D

Yes! I think there's more on the way. It's a pressure cooker out in the Atlantic.

Friggin Ivan woke back up after coming back down here. He's now making threats against Texas! Ruskie bastard! :p
Jeanne, that loopie witch, must be a blonde!!! :D
And I have a bad feeling about LISA. That's my wife's name, and if anyone is bound and determined to piss me off, it's LISA!!!! :lool:

Yeah, I get that feeling with Lisa too. She's running too far south.

We're expecting a Cat 3 hurricaine to come into the state around Melbourne and travel smack up the center of the state, passing over the Swamp sometime Sunday afternoon. This is getting very tiresome. Thx.

We're getting lashed by the outer bands now (5 a.m.) but the track has shifted noticeably south, heading for Tampa. This is a large storm however, and winds of 70 mph are predicted. I hope we can keep power on. The earlier track showed Jeanne passing right over Bushnell. It's funky out right now. I can hear debris hitting my office roof.

Power's back on after 25 hrs. Damn, this place is a mess! Worse than Frances. ALL this damn cleanup. Another section of the same tree next to the main house, big limbs took out fences, the arbor I built for my SO. OTT, only a few shingles off the main house. Wind driven rain kept me out in the shop Sunday (until the power went out), cleaning parts and getting them into the oil treatment after-park tank. B/S went up to 600 again.
Thx.

Man, that sucks! :(
I finally fell asleep Sunday around 3AM. She started heading right toward us (Charlotte Co) then decided to turn toward you!
Got back up at 6am and we kept power most of the day. Lost it for a few hours in the afternoon thanks to some strong feeder bands, but we made out alright. Phones & Net were out most of the day since we're routed through the Orlando area, and every time they get it, we lose it...
Sorry that your property keeps getting smacked!!! :(

Glad you're OK. We'll manage. Damn 'caines have all but brought FL to a dead halt. Now, about that update...
Edited to add: My wife went to the store (W*M) early Sat. morn and didn't get home 'till about 9 a.m. today (Mon.). That sucks.

Did my first reconnoiter today. Yes, FL trees are taking a beating, LOTS more down. I know I'm tired of picking them up!
