1. Do they come with all necessary mount hardware?
2. I got quoted around 300$ for range I want, is there better online?
3. Are they difficult to mount and sight in for a novice with scopes?
4. Any things to avoid /tricks when mounting?
My primary use will be target shooting up to 200yds max.
Thanks for anyone taking the time to respond:cool:

1. Yes. It has a built in mount for a Flat top AR.
2. The best I have found is $285 but then you add shipping and it goes to around $300.
3. No, their easy. I think red dots are easier to sight in than irons. YOu just put the sight in the desired location and then tighten the thumb screw and go sight it in.
4. Nope, its an idiot proof optic!
YOu do know their are different recticle patterns right? One is a 1MOA dot surronded by a 65 MOA ring and the other is just a 4 MOA dot. IF the range has a couple ask if you can look thru them to see shich one you like best.
I dont have the time to poist pics at the moment, but RJ will come along in a bit and post pics of his optic and the different recticles.

Well heres one way you can see the difference. Goto aimpoints site and look at their recticle, then goto eotechs site and look at theirs. Those are the two recticles EOTEch offers.

the dot only models gives you an optino of the ring and the dot or just the dot. and the dot is only 1moa.. dunno where i heard 4.. but thats all according the EOTech's site. Im not sure Id want that big ring and 1moa dot seems kinda small.

1MOA is for precision work. Not many sold, and the duplex reticle is the choice for the military...
For CQB with a carbine, they are quickly becoming "the choice." I do not care for them too much on a 20" barrelled firearm.
Here's mine, and older revision D. Believe me, THEY WORK!

Taken near the end of the buttstock so the focus would be right. When your eye is closer to the optic, and you use both eyes open, the optic itself disappears and all you see is your target(s) with a nice glowing reticle superimposed on their center mass! ;)

An entire 30 round magazine fired from the bag, at 75M, semi-rapid fire, >2"!!! The center dot, being 1MOA, is smaller than the front sight post. This allows very precise work at longer ranges, while the 65MOA reticle will make fast, multiple target shots, quicker!

I would try to find a dealer that has em in stock so you can see em for yourself. Some like em, some dont.

I'm kinda new here...so what I say is from my own exp. (< yr.) I bought a Bushy flat top, 16" and was in your boat with what to get...I choose the Eotech....it's a great optic...However I found myself trying to get accuracy and my "old" eye's not what they use to be.....I "borrowed" a 3x9x? off another rifle and accuracy picked up at the 100 yds. I shoot. The Eotech is quick and would for sure get the "job" done... I'll keep it, but when I like to go for the smallest group size... a 3x9xwhatever works better for me.
hope this helps
I recently purchased an Savage 12 bvss...accuracy ! ....best I have shot.... .235"moa @100yds. 3 shot group using reloads... lotsa fun !!
