It was suggested to me to post this in this area for a little more traffic!

I am interested in obtaining an auto. I have been doing alot of internet perusing but still have many questions. I had wanted to get a hold of hk mp5, but the cost is prohibitive to put it lightly.... I have an AR-15 and love that configuration, so my interest in that direction has increased.I would like something with a modecum of accuracy ( at least ) as I'd like to get into auto matches. What I'm hoping for is ANY advice on the subject. I wouldnt even mind 22lr i guess, but would like to stick to 9mm or larger if possible. Like I said, I cant realy venture into the 8, 10, 12 k realm right now..... So if I am out of line hoping to get a firearm of this type for 2 or 3 k or so (not including stamps and such) just tell me to take a jump!

Thanks in advance!

FA AR-15 for 2 or 3k? Afraid not from what I've seen. Expect to pay atleast 9 or 10k. Maybe 7.5k if you get a lightning link, but that might require a pre-1986 host in addition to it, so I'm not sure. The only thing you'll get for 2 or 3k is a Mac 10 or the like, and it will be more like 3k these days. Sorry, prices on FA are sky high, and will only go higher I'm afraid.

A friend just bought a full auto AR-15 for $11,000, and he was thrilled to get it that "cheap"! Thank Dianne in her younger years for high full auto prices when she forced her first firearm ban in 1986. No full-auto firearm may be sold to civilians after 1986 unless registered before that date.

What about "shall not be infringed" do they not understand?

I figured an AR would be a good chunk of change. I'll have to settle for one of the more affordable alternatives. I have seen a few Macs thet were built up a bit and looked like they would serve the purpose!

I noticed you were interested in the HK MP5 originally. Might I suggest an M11/9 or M10/45. Both of these are made as subguns and are in your pricerange... They are fairly accurate but not like the ar15...

Yah, the M11s and M10's with a stock and forgrip, looked like a great thing! Really affordable. Then my bubble burst when I found out that not only am I not allowed to own a supressor in my back ass state, but I am also confined to C&R full autos..... I was bummed...till a few days ago when I found the prettiest H&R Reising .45 you have ever seen. Just 10 miles from my hut. STOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I move, some day I will, Those will be one of the first things I pick up...Curio and relics only.....WTF?

I would recommend getting a registered Lightning Link. If you post a WTB add one should pop up for around $6500 or so. Good luck.

A M2 carbine or sten might be good as well, should turn one up for under 4K. Both have some historical ties as a bonus.
