The barrel is threaded under the muzzle brake with 5/8 - 24 threading, if
you have access to a vertical mill or lathe you can perform this easily.

Subject: M15A2 muzzle brake
To whom it may concern,
I have an M15A2 Serial #US 49xxx
I'd like to remove the muzzle brake and replace it with a flash
supressor. Looking at it, it looks like there is a blind pin that needs
to be removed via drilling out the weld which is located slightly
off from bottom center. After removing I could then unscrew
the brake.
My questions are
1. Would this be something that I could do myself? I have
machining and assembly skills with about 7 years experience.
2. Is my barrel threaded underneath the muzzle brake?
3. If it is threaded, what type of thread is it? (So I know which
flash suppressor to purchase)
Thanks,
