what accuracy do you guys get/expect out of an eotech or aimpoint at 100 yards?

i know they are more for a CQB senario and am not sold on spending 300+ on a reddot. just for something irons are good for
let alone any other reddot.

just wondering why the eotech and aimpoints are so popular?

Spc. Christopher Wilson, left, and Sgt. Randall Davis, a sniper team for Bravo Company, 5th Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 20th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, hold sniper rifles used during operations in and around Samarra. Leaders maintain that the Stryker brigade’s abundance of snipers is ideal for limiting collateral damage and civilian casualties during guerilla-style fighting

Sniper Sgt. Randall Davis peers down the holographic scope of the M-14 sniper rifle he used during operations in and around Samarra. Since mid-December, Davis has been credited with eight confirmed kills and two “probables,” a count no soldier in the brigade has matched.

one thing they are trained army snipers

we for the most part are not

and an m14 with any kind of reddot isnt ultimate accuracy

The center dot on an EOTech is 1MOA - smaller than the top of most sight posts. This means, while not magnified, that the EOTech should be theoretically more accurate than irons. ;)

Not sure why he's using this setup, but it seems to be working.

The Aimpoint BTW, has a 4MOA dot...

I could prolly take a guess at that..... I've played countless comp games as sniper online where I've been plucking away at people right and left only to have one of the bastards flank me and have no sporting chance whatsoever in a close range firefight with my scoped rifle......

he's got precision for long range and close range firepower readily available on 1 platform... I'd say thats prolly why he's using it....

prolly also has 10/20 vision ;)

I had 20/20 last time it was checked... but they say 20/15 is the best. I think someone cheated on their eye exam. :D

shoot i'm lucky to get 20/20 on both eyes..... right now i'm prolly at 20/30 on either... my eyes went out of focus for some reason this past year.. but.. i have a new prescription that'll put me back at 20/20.. just gotta go decide whether i want to give them my arm or leg for the lenses... tough decision..:rolleyes: :D
