OK..what's the intel on 6.8mm and AR15/M16 mags? I have read (most of it here) and heard much but nothing concrete. How do you modify them to work with 6.8mm? Where can I get parts? How many rounds lost? If they can't be modified reliably, where can I get new hi-cap mags? Help!

The feed lips are cut and the indensions in the mag are pushed out some to allow room for 28 SPC rounds. Now that the Cliton ban is gone, you can buy mags specifically made for 6.8 that are sold by Barrett.

Went to their site but couldn't find anything about mags...If the price of their upper for the 6.8 is any indication of what their mags will cost, I'll pass!

I was wrong, its Precision Reflex is making the mags along with the front sight of the M468.

I found it...$48.00!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? They gotta be high! (and I don't mean "high priced") I'll keep my 5.56 until prices come down...if ever.

Well it will be a few years at least. YOu gotta figure in military aquisition (that is if they dont go for the XM8), build up of arms, build up of mag supply, ammo production, and all the other logistical problems associated with a new weapon.

No doubt! I would love to have a 6.8mm. The ballistics are good and it's an interesting round. Guess I'll have to wait for the military acceptance. :)

You think the balistics are cool, listen to this. The 6.8 has the same energey at 250 Meters as 5.56 does at the muzzle! If that dont kill a dune coon or a deer, nothing will!
