Hello all, I am currently using a rifle with a Rock River Arms lower and an old Pac West Arms (PWA) upper (A1). It was hell to get these two parts to go together. The PWA upper was way out of spec and needed a LOT of fitting to even close. It still has a rather large gap between the two halves, even though it now works ok. I won't blame any of this on my RR lower, they do seem pretty tight in the rear pin area. My brother had to do minor fitting on the Diemaco upper he used with his RR. It was really minor though. I know of another guy who built a RR lower/ Colt upper that snapped together with no fuss. My question is regarding the A2 upper from MODEL 1 SALES. Have any of you tried a Rock River lower with this upper? If so, how was the fit? I have had pretty good luck with this company's products before....Whaddaya say. Todd.

Model 1 only uses Gi spec parts and I believe they are actually made by RRA for Model 1 just like RRA makes the parts for DSA's (maker of the great line of US-made FAL rifles) new line of AR's.
Oh, sorry that its kinda late, but :welcome:

I've had a couple Model 1 Sales uppers. Far as this GI can tell, they're GI. Get one. Hell, they's cheap! Get two. You'll like it. They're solid and spec.

Thanks for your input. It sounds like what I'm looking for, a quality mil-spec part for a reasonable price. I have one on the way! Todd.

I put one together using a RRA lower and Model 1 Kit. It fit well and was very tight. I'm thinking about a another in 16".

I received my Model 1 upper last week. The fit with my Rock River lower was nice & tight and no fitting was required. I assembled my barrel to it, took it to the shooting range and the weapon functioned perfectly. The rear sight was even dead centered. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone interested in building a rifle. It is equal to or better than any other brand. Absolutely no wiggle between the upper & lower. Thanks again to everyone who responded to this thread. Todd.

How did the finish match??
Looks like I can buy all the necessary tools and a kit and break even compared to buying a built gun. Then I got the tools I should have to work on my ARs. I'm thinking I gotta build something too.
Edit - just noticed this post is a bit old, oh well lets get the AR15 forum alive!

LMT supplies the parts for DSA's AR rifles. LMT also makes their FAL receivers.
