Well, 3 weeks ago I placed an order for 2 RRA lowers. Well, I called them today, and they said there is a 3-4 month backorder because RRA is using all of their lowers to build rifles incase the AWB gets reinstated. I called another company, and they said they have a couple DPMS lowers in stock right now, and are recieving a large shipment of them tomorrow. The price is the same, but I havn't heard anything on the quality of DPMS lowers. I've got a RRA upper, and an RRA lower parts kit.
So, I guess the question is, should I wait 4 months for a RRA lower, or should I get a DPMS now?

Well, I did a similar thing and I kinda wish I hadnt. My local dealer could get a forged DPMS lower pretty quick for about the same price as a RRA after transfer fees and so on. So I got hte DPMS lower and the quality looks great. Finish is awesome and appears to be well made. Until of course I started putting my RRA lower parts kit in there. Trigger guard rattled something fierce, bolt catch has lots of horizontal play and will prolly bend one of these days soon, roll pins went in VERY easy... too easy, selector is loose and doesnt have the nice crisp motion as my other lower which is RRA. Long story short, the DPMS lower I got was out of spec. I havent heard of anyone else having the same problem but Ive only mentioned it a few times in here. Oh, and I forgot that hte fit to my J&T distributing upper was looser than the head mistress at the mustang ranch. But my other RRA lower fits on my other J&T upper tighter than a condom. So ill let you decide. I plan on getting a different lower one of these days.

well, things worked out. turns out that one of my teachers has an RRA lower that he bought 4 years ago for his son, who is now 3. so, obviously, he is in now hurry. he sold me that lower, and when i get the two from RB, i'm going to sell one of them to him. i assembled everything i could without having the stock, which should be here this week i hope.
