AR-10 colapsable stock

just installed the armalite colapsable stock on my AR-10. my question is : does anybody know why the sliding portion of the stock will just slide right off the tube ? this does`nt seem right . should there be a "stop"

I have had two collapsable stocks that have done the same thing.

One had some " gummy " crap in the last indent so she kept walking right off the tube.

The other needed the allen type stop screw adjusted so she would not back out as far when you squeezed your lever on the stock.
