I have a PJK-9HP and it has the weak extractor problem. My question is that if I replace the spring with a stronger sring will that fix the problem???

Are you having failures to feed or extract? Both?
With what ammo does it seem to fail the most frequently?

It could be a couple of things, as evidenced by one of my FEG PJK-9HPs and that of a friend:

1) The extractor itself could be burred and catching on the slot in the frame. Sand/file/stone sharp edges.

2) The extractor isn't making proper contact with the extractor groove in the cartridge case. The extractor in mine was actually contacting the bevel in front of the groove. Slowly remove material from the contact area.

3) Weak or deformed extractor spring. Replace spring with one from Wolff or Brownells.

4) The stop pad on the extractor (behind the claw) is too long/wide and contacts the frame before the claw can fully engage the extractor groove in the case head. Slowly remove material from the end of the stop pad to allow the extractor to rotate farther inward and into the groove, but without excessive force. OR, purchase a replacement BHP extractor and extractor spring and install them in place of the FEG parts.

It could be any one or a combination of these issues that you are dealing with. The easiest would be to install a BHP extractor and spring.

Great thanks. I think I will just repalce the whole deal. Not a big fix for a 150.00 pistol that is great it just has occasional fte.
