I purchased a signature series bushy upper built for Kiesler's wholesale a few years back. It is post ban and the handguard/shroud runs the full length of the 16" barrel. With the sunset of the AWB i want to get the barrel threaded and install a flash hider but i can't get the shroud off. The barrel is free float and the shroud is threaded at both ends, I've called Bushmaster and they can't help, called Kiesler and for a fee ($ KA-CHING $) they will remove it. If ANYONE out there knows how to remove the shroud, without resorting to cutting it off, the info would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

What do you mean exactly "shroud"? Is it std handguards over a free float tube, is it a carbon fiber float tube?

Got any pics, they would greatly help in the process of helping you!

Tried searching for it and the only site I could find on it had a dead link... go figure  ...maybe a little more in depth description on what it looks like...

it might just need a freefloat wrench.. unless its actual A2 handguards over the top of a free float tube like a CMP national match rifle...

It is a metal Handguard/shroud, 16" in length and is completely free float. The muzzle end looks like the chamber end, same perforated type "cap". The one gunsmith i took it too suggested heating the end in case they used loctite but he wouldn't do the job himself so i'm kinda leary about that. I don't think i can post pics unless i upgrade my membership.

Sounds as if he is running a YHM Spectre forend with the additional end cap. Does it look like this without the rails?

Does the tube look like this?

If yes....simply unscrew the perforated cap in the muzzle end of the float tube and remove like any other free float forearm.
