Just a correction on the terminology:
The 1895 revolvers are Nagant Revolvers. Mosin didn't have anything to do with the 1895 Revolver.
They are available again at the moment, and the only advice that I have is to move fast. These things seem to evaporate fast when they come in.
Fiocchi makes Nagant ammo, but it can be tought to find and expensive. Some folks have decent luck with .32 S&W Long cartridges and brass for reloads, with the occasional split. At one point, conversion cylinders were available but no longer.

Interesting, I know nothing about them so any info is great, Thanks!
What is the caliber? I was under the impression from a gunstore owner that the nagant shoots a 7.62x25 so this is obviously wrong...
I see SOG has em, so I might check it out...
That c/r bug again...

The cartridge is the 8mm Nagant. It is .32 caliber.

Perhaps there are some .32 ACP cylinders available still.

:
The 7.62x25 is way too high pressure for this round. The gun can apparently take more pressure that the original cartridge: 7.62x38R, which is about 12,500 psi, but not a whole lot more!
There is a site:

I dont think it is maintained anymore, but I could be worng.
Hope it helps.

You know I did see a gunsmith converted 1895 nagant in 7.62x25 on gunbroker once but I wouldnt have shot it. :mouse
I bought 3 of the Nagant pistols when Century Arms first imported them. One has the factory cylinder, one the 32acp cylinder, and one with a cylinder rechambered to 7.62x25mm.
In the mid 1990's a gunsmith in MO advertised in the Shotgun News to rechamber Nagant cylinders to 7.62x25mm for $40. So a friend and I sent our cylinders to him. I have fired several boxes each of Chinese,Yugoslavian, and Hungarian 7.62x25mm surplus ammo. Also several boxes of Norinco and S&B 7.62x25mm ammo with good results. My friend has fired more rounds in his 7.62x25mm cylinder than I have. The recoil of the 7.62x25mm ammo feels the same as the Fiocchi 7.62 Nagant ammo. Firing the same 7.62x25mm ammo in my CZ-52 and TT-33 the recoil seems to be a lot more. I figure the .307" diameter bullets of the 7.62x25mm ammo and the large cylinder gap of the Nagant revolver keep the presure down to safe levels.
Firing the pistol with the 32acp cylinder feels like you are shooing 22lr ammo. The Russian ammo that SOG has or had is a light target load with a lead wadcutter bullet. Firing the Russian and the Fiocchi ammo is like shooting 38spl and 357 mag.

SOG has the correct ammo fairly cheap now ($14.99/70) so there is no need to shoot ammo its not made for...I had two but sold them...will probably get another...
The SOG Nagant ammo is in 40rd boxes not 70rd boxes. It is a very mild target load with a lead wadcutter bullet.
