Just recived 1000 RDs. from Ammoman
I use to get the m855 and m193 from the local gun store but it never said for (training use only)
is this real G.I. ammo

FOR TRAINING USE ONLY basically is their way of saying this ammo is in no way combat ready. It's bulk packed, loose ammo, and probably has about 20 or so defective rounds in the batch. Most people have never have problems, but personally I took the time and handchecked all of my "PD" rounds and came up with about 25 rounds out of 1000 that I decided I wouldn't put through my gun. Some of these included severely bent cases or necks, cracked necks, machine defected necks, and 2 or 3 of the possibly dangerous cracked on the body of the case, and bullet seated too deeply, past the cannelure.

If you go through and filter out the bad ones, it''ll be fine. Next time I'd reccomend Sportsmansguide.com because you'll save about 30$ on this ammo. Ammoman may have great service, but the only company I know of that will pay for return shipping if they screw up and take returns happily if theres a problem is Sportsmansguide.com. SO in a scenario like this, you could filter out 20 or so bad rounds. Send them back and get 20 new ones.

NP.. this is one issue i always try and take time to answer, because even though the odds are slim that anything could happen.. it usually only takes once to classify that range trip as a "bad day"

Some people have no problems, others have tons.. just depends on how lucky you are I guess :D

I checked the other 400 RDs.
and in them were 46 bad ones
11 off set bullets 11 badly dented cases 24 split necks
WTF. even though there were 1010 RDs. in the box
I am very PISSED OFF
I will not ever order this type of ammo from the ammoman again
thay should tell what you are getting (GI reject ammo)
who knows what could happen to you or your rifle with this shit ammo

Send the defectives back to Eric and politely ask him what he's going to do about them. See what his response is.

FWIW, I'd stick with the Federal XM193. It penetrates 1/4 and 3/8" cold rolled steel just as well as XM885PD, and IMO and experience seems to have better downrange accuracy. YMMV.

Thanks Noah
but I have maybe 900 RDs. of m193
I don't think it would be worth sending them back and not getting any thing in return but if (Ammoman sees this and is willing to do something) than Eric let me know and I will send them back to you

Sorry to hear about the trouble but 46 rounds is hardly anything to get worked up about. Its just more solid reminder that the next time before you go out and buy bulk ammo to check the boards first and find out what others have found.

HAY (bla bla bla) when I order a 1000 RD.s I expect to be able to shoot 1000 RD.s safely
and I did do a check on the boards first there was nothing about the (PD) 855
and it said on the AMMOMAN web site (GI issue) BULL SHIT

It actually is GI issue. Its issued to men in basic because its cheaper so you can teach them to shoot better for less. The armorers go thru and filter it by hand. Ammoman isnt lying as far as I can tell and it is good stuff. Sportsmens Guide bulk ammo is the same stuff. All is Lake City surplus so even the 20rd boxed stuff that is issue is reject most likely because of fualty water proofing. Dont get your panties in a wad too tight over 46 rounds. I do see your point because if I pay for $200-$220 for 1000rounds I do expect to be able to shoot them all too, but before getting too pissed contact Eric and see if he will give you two boxes of Xm193 or 46 undented XM855 or a store credit of some kind. If he refuses, then I would be miffed.
