I am now a proud owner of a new Oly Arms AR-15 thanks to Blaine at Atlantic Firearms.

This was my first gun purchase over the net and through the mail, so I was a bit apprehensive about the whole thing. I had heard good review about AF on this site so I gave him a call. He personally answered my questions about the AR I was interested in and took the order himself. I followed the three easy steps outlined on his site and it all went like clockwork.

The rifle was shipped within 3 days of the FFL & payment being received, and all my pestering, nervous "has it shipped yet?!" and "what's the tracking number?" e-mails were politely answered by Blaine the same day each and every time.

He's a good man to do business with and a supporter of this site and gives Gunsnet members a discount to boot! I will buy my next rifle ( a VEPR) from him and I will be sending my friend's business to him also.

Congrats on the new AR. :welcome: to Gunsnet! What did you buy? An Olympic Arms? You got fast delivery. I gave up on Atlantic (actually, new AR's) because no one has them in stock adn lead times are measured in weeks and months!

I posted on another thread about why I got lucky. I caught him right after he got back from the Vegas show and immediatly reserved an Oly Arms GI model .223 with my credit card. Then I sent the FFL and check (to save the 3% credit card upcharge).

He did mention a big shortage of forged receivers as being the reason all AR's are in short supply.

I'm just getting back into shooting after a 10 year dry spell and didn't want to drop big money into my first AR. If I like the AR enough, I will upgrade later. My favorite is the AK though. :ak: Oly Arms has a good reputation and several local gunsmiths told me they were solid well built rifles. They are short on snob value though :dunno:

Thanks for the welcome and don't give up on Atlantic Firearms. When they do get some stock in, they will treat you right on your order.

I should have been more clear. I was not levelling a charge at Atlantic Firearms. I know it is industry wide. I MEANT that I gave up trying to buy a NEW AR (which I was going to buy through Atlantic Arms). I bought a barely used Rock River M4. Hopefully, when I go to get my 20" A2 they will be more available than they have been.

Blaine is a fantastic guy to deal with. I bought a DSA STG-58 through Atlantic and got a very good price on it. Blaine was always responsive (and patient) to my emails and phone calls. I highly recommend Atlantic Firearms (mention that you are a gunsnet.net user and you get a discount).
