Anyone used these before? Tapco and my local gunstore are selling these. It is a 6x scope for the AR that can go on the carry handle or flat top which would be perfect for my new baby!

Now, I know you guys are going to poo-poo anything less that $400 - $1000 for a Trijicon or an Aimpoint, however, I am just looking for a scope that I can use out to about 100 yards with some magnification to match the .223.

It's supposedly pretty good from what I've been reading on some other forums. I checked one out at a gun show yesterday and it's feels to be built good and optics are clear. One guy reported that the light switch on his felt cheap. Other than that, everybody else gave the "two thumbs up", especially for the price. My only gripe is that it sits too high for my taste on my AK; I'd like to keep its low profiled stance.

Hey greyhound,

How do you like that scope?
I have been thinking of getting one for my M-4 type.
How is Clearview to deal with, as far as shipping? I never ordered from them before. Can you compare them to Tapco service?

Thanks for any info you can give...

I got the scope in nothing flat. Packaged well and best price out there. I have not had the chance to zero the scope yet so I do not know about the operational intricacies of the scope yet. It does have a clear, bright picture, illuminated reticle, and a decent mount for a2 or flattop. The proof will be in the pudding seeing if it will hold zero and adjust well. I will let you know.

This isn't that OTHER forum ;)

Is this the ACOG replica? or am I thinking of something else.... If it is.. I'm curious to know how it performs...

any chance of getting a macro shot through the lens of the scope? My gf wants a scope like my actual ACOG..... but.... uhh... yea :).... something more affordable would be nice :)... curious to know how this performs..

I couldn't pass up the price, so I ordered on yesterday. The reviews I read on the optic were pretty favorable. The only drawback noted was the soft metal used to mount the scope to the carry hande. Overtightening the screw may damage the mount. Also, the artcle recommended using a lock washer so the mount doesn't come loose from shooting.

Anyway, hopefully I have decent results and will post something when I shoot, which won't be for 2 more weeks.

I took the AR out to the range today. First time I shot it and mounted the scope after 120 rnds.

The scope mounts to the carry handle real easy. I added a rubber washer and a lock washer. The scope never worked loose after firing over 300 more rounds. The view is decent and the scope is easy to zero. The only thing I don't like about the optic is the light switch. It is pretty cheap and seemed to turn on by itself. The battery died after the day on the range.

However, I am very pleased with this purchase. I wanted an inexpensive scope for plinking and this one is definately a wise choice.

Thanks greyhound47 for starting this thread and influencing my purchase!!!

M fortier a writer for shotgun news wrote a positive review of this scope. He was testing the DPMS lo-pro classic so he went w/ an inexpensive AR and an inexpensive scope and was pleased w/ both.
