I have this rifle which I just purchased from fellow gunsnet member "Rooftop Voter." http://www.gunsnet.net/album/data//500/34992ar_vertical-med.JPG Just got back from the range this weekend and she is a beaut! However, even at 100 meters that front sight pin looks pretty darn wide! Remember, be gentle. I know nothing about this gun yet! Is it possible to chage out that front sight pin or do you need to change to a different upper? Also, it has the 90 degree flip peep sight on the rear. One is a combat peep and the flip is a target peep. To get better long range accuracy (like for PCM shooting) do you need to change out the rear sight too? Lastly, is this kind of work possible to do yourself or do you need the assistance of a gunsmith?
I appreciate any help you can provide. I was incredibly accurate at 100 m with this as it is. I can only imagine how she would be with better sights!

Looks like we need to recruit more Gunsnet members to the AR side, eh? Pretty easy question but no one home? Hmmmm. If it is so easy why don't I know the answer? :letssee:

There are several places to get custom front sight blades, but you might want to start here.

It also helps if you have one on these.

I doubt you need to do anything about the rear sight, unless you want to upgrade to competition sights which offer smaller adjustments per click like the$e.

You can do it yourself since it's basically a parts swap. As they say in the ads: "No gunsmithing required" :) You'll probably need a reference manual for rear sight disassembly, at least I do.
Hope this helps.

This is why I love this site! This is perfect. I am ordering the kit of front sights and will see how I do without changing out the rear sight.
Thanks!

Let us know how it goes. Remember, focus on the front sight post, not the target beyond and that will drasticlly improve your accuracy! Dont mean to sound like Im calling you a dumbass, just seems I have met far too many people (with AR's or not) that cant use irons worth shit.
