Actually, my post was more to illustrate the benefit & advantages of becoming a Buyers Club Member at SG, one of our fine sponsors.

You end up getting back way more that the cost of membership if you regularly buy sporting related products.

Yea i am part of the buyers club as well. Great deals on ammo. Just usually with them you have to know what you're buying. But they do have an awesome return policy.

My order arrived today. A quick once over revealed no real problems. Will do a more thorough check as I am loading my mags.

Ok, so what is the green tip supposed to do? Is it just a way to mark/identify them?(looks like paint)

Long time ago when they switched from 55 grain to 62 grain, they used green paint to designate the 62 grain. This was for ease. From the naked eye, its hard to tell the difference from 5 feet away, but with paint.. it's easy. As time went on.. most of the USGI stock of 55 grain ammunition was filtered out. Sometimes it's used more out of tradition, but its not really needed anymore.

Cool. Figured you'd have the answer. Didn't Remington make some with green nylon tips a while back? Seems like I remember seeing them, then they were gone,

Probably a nosler ballistic tip. Black Hills currently makes them in a variety of grains. Check midwayusa.com for them. They have a bunch of different types of Black Hills ammo. Basically provides the velocity and seperation of an HP round on impact with the accuracy of a FMJ.

Prolly something like this. http://www.midwayusa.com/mediasvr.dll/image?saleitemid=195852

Found it at MIDWAY. Expensive now. When I saw it a few years ago, it was in bulk and about as expensive as the other bulk ammo available. Shoulda bought a shit load.

Does Sportsmens Guide take Money Orders or Cashiers Checks? Thats one reason I always buy from Ammoman, the others being what I want is always in stock and really fast and good service.

If they do take MO or CC, I may try them next time I order ammo.

SG takes MO's, but I dont think they guarantee it to be in stock if you order that way.
