Anyone seen the new Ruger downsized Vaquero? I guess they wanted to compete with the Colt Cowboy, Uberti and other SAA clones.
Personally, I love the heft of my old Vaquero (even with a 3 3/4 inch barrel). There is so much metal in this thing that opening the loading gate and rotating the cylinder is like opening a steel safe. The weight helps absord felt recoil and there is comfort in knowing that handloads and Cor-Bon .45 LC +P will not worry the gun or the shooter.
On the New Vaquero it looks like they put a longer hammer spur for the short thumbed crowd.
Being a Ruger it is likely to be a fine piece.
