honestly, the finish on their parts is good. so is the metal quality.
however, their plastic parts seem like 2nd generation molds. lotsa flash at the edges.
My trigger pins and parts were also mismatched colors of blue and black, second rate internal parts.
I have bought 4 kits from them so far, they sent the wrong ACE stock on the most recent order and I sent it back, they then said they never got it and I was out $100. They were VERY rude to me and I learned my lesson. Being that I deployed to Iraq so soon I didnt have time to quip over $100 and had other problems on my plate. I just wrote it off and vowed never to do business with them again.
Since then, about a year ago, I have built 4 more kits for friends from J&T parts.

and have had great customer service, they even let me know when the parts shipped, and the parts were even better than Model-1 stuff. The plastic was sharper and cleaner and all the parts had the same finish on them.
J&T and Rock River seem like the only two Parts Kit places left that are doing a good job. Sure model-1 may be a few $$$ cheaper but like I said, you learn your lesson going with the cheapest!

not model1 but I went through maparts, upper was higher quality than I expected, internal parts was missing a detent and the disconnect spring was slightly too large, but other than that good quality.

Built my first AR using a Stag lower and Model One A-2 upper. Was pleased with the service and quality. Everything went together well w/no problems. Got my upper 2 weeks after ordering. Would order from them again in the future for my next build, 16" this time.

M&A parts is same as Model 1 sales. IIRC.
good as long as you are lucky and dont need to return anything or nothing breaks or at least until you see what better finishes other companies have ;)

Remy hit it on the head.
Problems associated with Model 1 include bad lower part kits, and weak bolt carriers.
If everything arrives good.. then thats fine. Don't complain if your carrier breaks after 1500 rounds though :( .
The rest of the uppers and stuff sans the carriers/bolts have been fine from others' experiences. Most is on par with olympic arms quality.
