i have a friend who's looking for a decent concealed-carry holster for a chinese tokarev. any suggestions? does anyone even make such a thing? given its size and shape similarities, do you think a ccw holster (or any holster. ccw, hip, or what have you) for a hi-power or 1911 would work adequetly, provided it wasn't the kind that was fitted to the exact shape of the gun?
Welcome to TGN. I don't know about a holster for the tok. I do have a question however. Why in the world would anybody carry a single action auto without a safty for CCW? Even that little add-hock safty added for import is not a real safty. :)

thanks for the welcome, rew. taking in mind that we're both impoverished college students, you'd carry a tok in such a capacity simply because it's the one pistol you own. i myself have a makarov, and find it quite suitible to the task, but wanted to see what could be done for his gun.
and yes. that ad-hoc safety is, well, sketchy. :)

How about picking up a Bulgarian makarov? They can be had for around $150 & are super robust. A fair number of concealed carry options as well.
Well, if thats all he has and he can't get a Mak, or a Star B, tell him to carry chamber empty. If he is a really brave person, chamber loaded hammer down. This is called condition II and is the way I carry a single action auto. BUT I have 30 years of training and pratice. It is a very dangerus way to carry without the proper training. ;)

thanks for the replies, guys. in lieu of convenient money to buy a smaller gun, he'll probably keep trying to track down a generic waistband-style holster for it.
me, i'll just keep carrying my mak.

Rew, I understand on some Stars, the firing pin rests against the primer when the hammer is down. That would concern me some. I plan on carrying my Star BM sometime in the future, but would probably carry condition 1.

just for my own edification, is 'condition 3' "cocked 'n locked"?
