Have a Marlin semi-auto 22. Lately I was having trouble with the trigger/firing pin.
Found the problem, the trigger guard is cracked at the rear. When it’s screwed in tight it’s spreading enough to cause the trigger to push on the frame and not the firing pin release.
At $17.50 (+$3.50 shipping) I go looking for another way out, yes I’m cheap.
My fix was to clean the plastic trigger guard add some epoxy to strengthen and finish with a thin washer to take up the extra space. To get rid of any oil I sprayed it with carburetor cleaner. The plastic melted just enough for me to push it together, instant weld.
OK don’t everybody stand and cheer at once. Two or three at a time will be fine.
