Yeah, I was lucky enough to get 2 that day. That had to be the best deal ever! I wish I had bought more, they sold out in a matter of hours.

Century M91/30 Ufixems, $19.87ea + $2.00 shipping. I got five. Three are near 100% on finish with G-G+ wood, one had a broken upper handguard and none on them have front sights. One has cleaning rod. All matching except bolt. A forth one is the same but about 80% finish. The last has a broken buttstock with only 50% finish but it has a front sight. Three of these should clean up to VG+ or excellent with a little stock refinishing and some front sights. The fourth will go G+ with no problem.

I got in on Century's 4 fer of 91/30s for $100. G with cracked stocks they said. Well, I got some nice rifles, three had slings, all were cracked, 2 in the handguard (easy fix) and two elsewhere, again, both were easy fixes.

I now have three $25 91/30s that are clean, good shooters. I traded one at the gunshow yesterday for 8 AK-74 mags, so lets see. Best price I could find on 74 mags were $7 each used. I got new ones, eight of them, for a $25 gun and some labor! I think I made out like a bandit.

Then, I bought 5 91/30 Ufixems, here's the report I posted elsewhere...

Well, Friday came and so did my big box of 5 Mosin Nagant 91/30s from Century. I was hoping for at least 3 good guns out of 5, and so I got it. Here's the rundown:

1939 Tula, stock missing the entire butt end (this was the worst of them, had to get it out of the way). Nice bore though, about 60% blue. Parts aplenty for my other 91/30s that need 'em.

1942 Izhevsk - Good shape, missing only a barrel band retainer and a screw, stock has a big yellow painted "C" on each side of the buttstcok. 75% blue, bore is still full of cosmo so I haven't looked yet.

1940 Tula, chunk cracked off the buttstock, could be fixed but I'll probably swap it with another. This is a parts gun too or a seel-off the pieces gun. Its in 80% shape as far as blue and bore. Nice rifle, ugly wood.

1925 Izhevsk - Hex receiver transition rifle with 1925 tang date, stock in pretty decent shape and will clean up quite well, almost no blue left but nice bore. Missing a couple of screws and a handguard (I'll take one off the previous one), no front sight (only three of the five have front sights). Worth 19.95? Yes.

And the jewel of the bunch- a 1942 Tula in 95% blue and shiny new looking bore, best wood I've seen on a 91/30 with no, yes I said NO dings or scratches!. Missing parts? Yes, it has not front sight and no barrel band retainer, and its missing a stock end cap. Man, this gun is pretty!

So, I am happy, I got one piece of certifiable junk (thanks to ordering 5 of them), three shooters that need a few parts, and one superb and extremely beautiful rifle that need minimal attention. Considering I can use the junker for parts, and perhaps on of the others for parts, I get two good shooters/traders, a very nice shooter, and lots of parts to trade. Sound good? I rolled the dice as they say, I figure I will come out ahead...

That' my latest good deal!

If one of the C&R guys on this board would find a deal, it spread like wildfire thru our little group here. Now that we have our own forum it will be much easier for us all to get the great "one day specials"!

Thanks, I thought that was a secret sect, or hidden brotherhood. I always miss out on the cool stuff, but now that the C&R forum, came along hopefully that will change. 8dDUCE.

Yeah, I found out about the Mosin Nagant M44 in the wrappers coming in from a fellow board memeber. Called up AIM and got one. They were gone in no time.

The 4-fer 91/30s were the same deal- heard from a fellow collector on another board and picked up the phone...
