I received a 12 guage, single shot, break open shotgun from my wife's grandpa. It is marked on the receiver left side with "Central Arms Co." over "St. Louis". On the right side of the receiver is a circle with 21 inside. There are no other markings present. Any info would be appreciated, thank you.

smittylite, Central Arms Co. was a trade name used by the Shapleigh Hardware Co., located in St. Louis, MO, on shotguns made by the Crescent Firearms Co. from about 1900-1930. Crescent was a large supplier of inexpensive shotguns to catalog & hardware companies in the USA for the first part of the 20th century. These shotguns typically have far more sentimental value than actual resale value. I would strongly recommend that you have your shotgun inspected by your favorite gunsmith to ensure it is in proper working order & is safe to shoot. Hope this helps!
