I'm looking to buy an AR-10 SR-25 copy. I am a fan of the Bushmasters and like the design of the FAL mags, forward assist etc. However, Bushmaster makes a free float tube but not a 24" target barrel :-( Is anyone aware of a company making target barrels for the BAR-10?
Thanks

Nope. New design, not too many parts or custom projects out yet. I'm sure Bushy will come out with some new models, including a heavy profile tack driver, soon though. I'd hold off till they announce their 2006 models.

Also check out the new DPMS .308 that George Gardner at GA Precision is building now:

He might also be able to rebarrel a BAR-10 for you. Hell of a gunsmith, give him a ring.

Thanks! Sent him an e-mail. He is just up the road (I-70) a few hours from me. I'll have to take some time to look up his shop the next time I make it to KC.

I've checked out these guys. Both my AR15 Lowers came from them. Excellent quality.

Just thought I'd update anyone interested. GA Precision can rebarrel a BAR-10 upper. I'm getting a quote to have it done. If anyone is interested in the cost, PM me and I'll let you know when I find out.

ALSO, I talked with Jim Eden at Bushmaster tech support. He said there has been a lot of interest in a varminter style in the BAR. However, he also said that Bushmaster has no existing plans at this time. So my bet is that it will be at least 2007 or 2008 before they get one out.

In the meantime, you can get one built at GA Precision...
