I have yet to get an S12, but have done a creative rebarreling project on an AKM. I've thought the S-12 would be an incredibly reliable and powerful hunting weapon if offered with a rifled barrel.

Suppose a standard rifled shotgun barrel from Remington, Mossberg, Winchester, or any others could be turned down, Modified for feeding, and pressed and pinned like any other AKM barrel? Or is the S-12 more complicated than that?

Has anyone rebarreled a Saiga shotgun before (besides the 410, which I'm doing as well)?

I have yet to see anyone do a rebarrel, I thought about a slug only S12, but with the availability of the Paradox choke, it pretty much makes it more effort than it is worth. I shoot decent enough groups with a paradox and slugs to not ever need a fully rifled barrel.

I've never heard of anyone using a non-Izhevsk barrel, but it sounds reasonable.

I have the common F1.0 full choke barrel and have shot rifled lead slugs through mine no prob, good accuracy too. I'd like to be able to shoot the steel slugs and sabots etc, but wouldn't try that without a new barrel.
