I know a few of the guys have picked some of these up!

Here is the addvertisement from WWW.Aimsurplus.com

Schmidt Rubin K-31 7.5 Swiss Caliber
One of the more interesting Military Rifles of all time! These Rifles are world renowned for their Superior Accuracy. The unique straight pull bolt of the K-31 combined with outstanding Swiss craftsmanship make this Rifle highly sought after by Military enthusiasts and collectors alike. Only 500,000 K-31’s were made and many are still in use by the Swiss in their annual Military exercises and marksmanship training. Due to the scarcity of the K-31 in the U.S. market, most collectors have been unable to afford the few which have surfaced during the past few years. 7.5 Swiss ammo has been nearly impossible to find! The Rifles are available now and Surplus Ammo is on the way! Hurry, these Rifles will not last long! Very Good Metal, Fantastic Barrels, Wood shows Obvious wear.

Yep, sure enough. I bought that gun before they released any for sale. They had their shipment in stock but they were not logged in or something so they just sold me that one.

I also heard they are sold out of K-31's now...all grades. Anybody tried to buy one from them in the last few days?

BBT brought mine from SOG this past Thursday. 139.95 plus 10.00 hand select plus S&H. I am a little disappointed but not totally surprised since it is SOG. My rifle has 95% blue from the front of the reciever back but the metal fittings like the bands et c are at best 70% and the wood has a few to many nicks and a couple of light surface crush marks here and there. Rifles were advertised as VGD to EXC. I guess I got a very good one. The thing feels like and handles like a target rifle. I cannot wait to try it out. The reciever and that straight bolt are very massive assemblies. By the way it is all matching and was built in 1947.

Signode, my rifle was $180. from AIM. One of the higher grade. They called it very good+ I don't think anybody has what you would consider excellent rifles. At least I have'nt heard of any. The biggest difference in the grades was the wood. My wood has a few small dings etc., but looks good overall. I saw a couple of these at the gunshow today. The metal looked good on them but the wood was banged up pretty good.

Yes, I got two of the $180 grade in for a friend and myself. The socks ar rough but the metal is great. One could strip the finsih off, steam out the dent's sand er back up and then refinish with low gloss Tunge Oil. Be careful to not sand off the Swiss cartouche stamped in the stock.

I had one about 3 years ago that I purchaed from a guy selling it at a gunshow. That K31 was 99.5% perfect. I should have kept it but a customer saw it and eventually kept throwing money at me until he got me to sell. Sigh, I shouldn't have done that! :(

I got a $109 shooter and it has 90%+ blue and a mirror bore. The stock is a bit rough, but nothing a handrubbed finish wouldn't fix. Half the fun of owning these is deciphering all the little proof marks -- there's literally one on every piece. I didn't get a unit tag under my buttplate, though.

Be seeing you.
