Anyone buy some of those Ronan AR-15 mags that AIM has for sale? They don't say mil-spec, but it looks like they are--gray aluminum and a green follower. I ordered three a few days ago and wanted to know if anyone has had a bad experience with these.

From what I have read, Ronan is a distributor for Okay USGI magazines.
Let us know what you think of them when they arrive.

I ordered the new Brownells magazines and they appear identical to all of my USGI mags. (a bit less expensive compared to the ronans also)

Well I got them today. They appear to be like any other USGI mag and they were made in 09/04...must have been right after the ban because they're not marked as LEO/Military only. They do seem to be pretty scratched up for being so new. At $14.95($13.95 if your order 5+) they'll do fine as long as they send rounds down range. I should be able to test them out this weekend sometime.

They are marked as NHMTG Hartford, CT.

Cool deal. Usually the bulk packed mags without plastic wrap or invidividual boxes come scratched pretty bad. It's just the phosphate coating that wears off easily.

Keep us posted on how they turn out

I had a chance to try them out this weekend. They functioned just fine in my rifle with both Greek and Wolf ammo. I might have to pick up a few more for my collection.

I've been seeing normal parkerized ones for around $15.00, and have been lucky to find the teflon coated Labelles (D&H) for $16.00 if I look hard.

The ones I bought at AIM were NHMTG and were $14.95, $13.95 if you bought a certain number. It doesn't look like they have those anymore. I think Brownells is around the same price if they have your C&R or 1FFL on file with them.

This guy has a webpage full of info:

Parsons bought out Adventure Line, and was eventually aquired by Center Industries. Parsons mags all had black followers. Made from early 1970s-early 1980s. Floorplates stamped:

PARSONS PRECISION PRODUCTS
PARSONS, KS. U.S.A.

I was at the indoor rifle range qualifying on M-16 and I noticed that all my mags were Parsons.
