ive downloaded the forms and im ready to mail them. im excited. i have one question i cant find the answer to. here a permit is required for a pistol, how does a c&r license work in regards to c&r pistols and the permit?

Just after you get your license the BATF will send you regulations books. In one of those books it will have all the firearms related laws for your state.

In my State (New York) the C&R license does not allow me to purchase any pistols, even though I have a full carry pistol permit.

Actually, the ATF has a blanket rule that states you must comply with all state and local laws before you begin activity under your license. I think you even affirm to that fact when you sign the application, maybe not, I can't remember if its on the app or not. Look at what they say where you sign.

In any event, if you need a permit to buy a pistol in Missouri, then that's what you'll have to do before you receive a C&R pistol.

Nothing against you fine gents from NY, but damn....NY sucks. I would have to move before I put up with that crap. Worst thing is, you get your fate decided by 8 million liberal anti-gunners in one city. Bummer.....
