Hello, I have a jungle carbine #5 it has a nose cap. A piece of metal on the fore end of the stock. The stock is a dark walnut color, with reddish hues. Is this original and if not, will it de value the weapon? I wish I could post a pic, but I is not dat edjumakated. Thanks, 8dDUCE.

Nope that's original but not on all models. Here's a neat place for pics. The rifles depicted here sound about like your description.

After you view the jungle carbine, get back to the photo gallery and they must have 40 other different types of beautiful rifles in there.

One of these is high up on my wish list. How do you like yours? Is it a good shooter?

Well, hows all ten shots in a group the size of a quater. This was with S. Africian BALL Ammo. The target was a military zero target. The target at 25 meters simulates a 300 meter target, and this was done standing with the sling wrapped around my left arm. This rifle is SICKLY I mean DEAD ON ACCURATE! It is so nice to fire, you are part of this weapon. The size feel and sites on this weapon are super. I LOVE this weapon. I would take this weapon into battle no question!!! If you can get one do it, you owe it to yourself. I want to get another one. The one I have was made in 1945 #5MK1 ROF(F) F T R BD1876. It handles quick it is light and holds ten .303 rounds with the most soild action I have felt. You shake this gun, NO RATTLES. It is so solid, it feels like one piece. Be sure the lighting cuts are in the bolt and on the barrel some guys are using #4' and cutting them down as #5's. One tell tell sign is the elec. pencil on the leftside of the reciever it will state No5 MK1. GOOD LUCK. Hope you find a creat rifle, you WILL NOT REGRETE IT!!!!!! 8dDUCE.

ALL NUMBERS MATCH, the bore is perfect headspace excellent. I could go on all night, too bad you are not in FL. I'd let you try it out!!! This one came with a bayo also. I bought it at a gun show, every one passed it up their loss. It cost...... are you ready... $245.00 I tore a hole in my pocket to get it. It came with a guenuine british "friction" sling, and 100 rounds. Guess I was lucky.

I looked at that link, mine is DARKER and more of a SATIN look to it. The blueing is all there. WERE EVER this weapon came fom it was well stored, the stock has no dent scratches or blemishes of any kind. People that look at it can not belive it is from 1945. People can say what they want, I love these ENFIELDS!!! 8dDUCE.
