I've found a company that makes milled receivers for AK pistols. The name of the company is Firing Line. Their milled receiver is called the MLS99.

Their web site is: www.angelfire.com/ok3/firingline/index.html

Their email is: ak47stalker@yahoo.com

Their phone number is: 918-666-2788

Although they don't have an AK pistol receiver listed on their web site, I've called them earlier today and found out that they do make them. If you want a swivel on the rear of the receiver, just let them know.

I never have been able to justify paying $300+ for a receiver. Especially one that adds that much extra weight to a pistol.
You can build 2 complete stamped pistols for the price of a milled receiver.
JMHO.

One advantage that a milled receiver has is its weight when it comes to controlling recoil/muzzle jump. I know that the price for a milled receiver is on the high side, but I already have a couple of stamped-receiver 7.62 AK pistols. I figure it would be nice to have a milled 7.62 pistol version in my collection.

I've got an AMD pistol built on an Ohio Arms stamped receiver. I've shot it quite a bit and it weighs enough that recoil is not a problem. I don't think a milled receiver would be worth that much more to add to controllability.

I found recoil to be no problem with my AMD AK Pistol made up from a flat.
Weight is the problem to accurate firing without using a bi-pod or rest.
Found the CDNN AK quick-detachable bi-pod to be the answer for me. Shame they ran out of them. Oh Well, I got 2 before they did.
Strongly recommend optics. I started out with a Kobra and went over to a EER (pistol) 4X fixed power. 50 & 100 yd shooting is a snap!
When shooting off of the pod or a bag, there is only rearward movement.
This is hardly noticed by the shooter. By-standers really notice it though.
I see no benefit for a milled receiver, though if they were a third the price, I would consider one, just to be different.

I simply want to have an AK pistol in 7.62 with a milled receiver because I already an AK pistol in 7.62 with a stamped receiver. The pistol that I plan on changing over from stamped to milled has a Hesse receiver. I've heard too many horror stories about Hesse receivers.

I would not demill your current pistol to use the parts in a new build. You should make out better by selling the pistol and starting with new parts kit. If the milled receiver you are looking at has a threaded trunion you will need a different parts kit as well. Just something to concider.

Firing Line makes milled receivers with both threaded and press & pin trunnions. I've already talked to them. I'm thinking of just sending my pistol to them for the changeover from stamped to milled.

Aren't the milled receivers kind of pricey?
You're talking around $400 just for the receiver, right?

I know that milled receivers are kinda pricey, but like I've said earlier, I will have three AK pistols with stamped receivers (1 in .223 and 2 in 7.62, which will include my M92 pistol with a nickel-plated receiver that's currently being built) and I figured that it wouldn't hurt to have a milled version in 7.62.
