Living in a rural area it is hard to find classes....I have found some good sources for training via DVD/VHS... Gunsite makes a good VHS tape on close quarters weapon retention runs around $30 gunsite. I give it a 8 on 1-10. Next would be Bob Taylors "Gun Disarment" tapes...it ran about $70 from TRS direct. I rate it a 9 on 1-10.
The general point in all the tapes is keep aware of what is going on around you, if someone does make a weapon grab then go with there energy to throw them off....keep a back up weapon (pistol or blade, even a flashlight) on your off hand side. It was a very easy to follow the directions and fun to practice (safely!!).

Cool. Posts some links and do some more reviews. Never knew of anyone offering any tapes that actually was reputable.

The Gunsite video on basic Combat Shotgun is also worth viewing, my personal rating woud be about a 7 of 10. Goes through ammo selection, patterning, combat loading, etc.

Thanks for the review
I had a suprising short course on weapon take away.
I thought that I had been learned on keeping a pistol in my hands prior
This fella showed me that even if I had my pistol in close ready he could still take my pistol away and point it at me in a matter of seconds.
Also showed me that no matter the position of the "bad guy" he could disarm me.
Even when I had him in a choke hold he imobilized me very quickly.
Only way to keep your fireamr is to keep distance, if someone continues to advance on me with my weapon up and ready then he has no fear and a working knowledge of weapon take aways. Shoot first.
Secondly I started to carry another knife in my weak side pocket
due to him making that arm immobile
