Anyone here own a WW2 P38? Would it be worth $500 in a decent shape (80%)?

I'm thinking about the $300 post WW2 P38, but that little "eagle359" is quite irrestible. I also wonder if the P38 shoots nice. Seems like a nice small sidearm. (mental image of a US officer exchanging 1911A1 fire with a German 9mm Parabellum.)

I have a P-38. Its a late war 1945 model. I recommend sticking with a true P-38 and not a P-1. That's if you want a wartime gun. The P-1 is a fine weapon otherwise. I paid $400 for mine with the holster and 100 rounds of ammo.
