i mounted our Simmons 6-24x scope on our Tula TOZ-78 and ran into a problem when i got to the range. we are using Weaver rings and they really llift the scope up a bit above the gun. the main problem is that the scope runs exactly parallel to the barrel and when you're dealing with .22 rimfi have to crank the elevation all the way down just to get the point of impact to coincide with the point of aim at 50-100 yards.

are there any scope rings you can get for .22 dovetail where the front one is slightly lower than the rear so you can incline the objective lens down a bit? i know they make 15-minute bases and rings for centerfire rifles, does the same thing exist for rimfire?

thanks!

Yes they make rings that are different elevations. I know most companies list the rings as front and back and they have factored in the difference. Take a look at midway, or any other company that carries scope rings and see what they have to offer... Who did you buy your rings from??? They may have some information for you...

I would try a small piece of shim stock between the scope and the rear mount. it should bring it down far enough for you and it's a cheap fix. Hope it helps.

i found the solution:

http://www.burrisoptics.com/rings.html

you can get shim kits for those rings and pretty much zero the scope without worrying about tweaking the scope body.

thanks for the tips guys!
