View Full Version : FS: Inexpensive AK Buffers

I have been producing BlackJack recoil buffers for the AK (will fit any AK variant including Saiga) and many other military firearms for several years now. One of the main things that got me started producing my own line of recoil buffers (besides my competitor's pricing) were all of the jams and mis-feeds I started to experienced after I installed one of their buffers in my SA-93 AK-47. All of my AK buffers are only 1/4" thick which is 1/2 the thickness of my competitor's recoil buffer, this thinner buffer design allows the AK action to cycle closer to how it was originally designed.

I use an industrial grade heat-cured urethane in the production of my buffers and most models are available in a softer or harder composition...green being the softer tends to absorb more of the shock and felt recoil, and the harder black is much stiffer and should be used when bump firing or in select-fire mode. Installing a BlackJack Buffer is simple, takes only a few seconds, and does not require any disassembly of the recoil spring assembly. When you install a BlackJack buffer you will help protect your investment from the impact damage that can occur as the bolt carrier slams into the rear of the receiver each time a round is fired. Other benefits from using a recoil buffer include a quieter and smoother action, with tighter groupings and follow-up shots.

I offer a "no hassle" satisfaction guarantee on all of my BlackJack products! If for any reason you don't like them, I'll refund your money or replace the item. If you can wear these out, return it to me and I'll replace it.

Besides recoil buffers for the AK, I also offer buffers for the SKS, SVD, FNC, Ruger 10-22, Mac10/11, Uzi, FAL and many others.)

I've also started producing a tactical safety lever for the AK-Blackjack SWIFT Levers and followers for 7.62x39 steel and waffle mags that will lock back the bolt after the last round has been fired...
http://www.blackjackbuffers.com/bwp/SWIFTprm.jpg
I now offer close to 200 items on my site and try to have the best prices around.

Man, I wish I had not paid like $10 bucks for mine a few weeks ago - it did NOT slide over spring and I think it is too big for action as I've had a couple of jams. If I get tired of this, I'll get a pair from you.
Thanks.

I believe you are refering to the yellow urethanes, I haven't had and reports of them breaking down as of yet.

Blackjack.

I recommend putting together a website to sell these.

It would be pretty simple to do... even if it's just a free server off like geocities, it would be nice as a reference to people.

just a suggestion.

You're right, I do need a web site. My daughter has been trying to get me to set one up...it's just a time issue. What started out as a hobby and a convience to AK shooters has turned into something I can hardly keep up with. I'll see what I can do as far as a web site. My biggest concern is getting production up and keeping costs down while still providing a quality product.
Thank you all for all the support you have shown me in this venture.

Old idea. www.sprinco.com has been selling wonder buffs for all sorts of firearms (including AK's) for awhile now.

I have a few coming in the mail for an evaluation article I'm writing for Texas-Shooters.com. Anyone else use their products?

Finally got to the range and ran 50 rounds through my Buk AK47. It shot as sweet as my Russian Legend with the Buffer Tech Buffer! How long will it last? I think it will be a hellve cost factor to buy the ammo to find out. I will put another 100-200 rounds through it on Sunday. I dont see any indication of wear from the 50 rounds. Why so little rounds shot at the range? Because after my shooting my other rifles, I pull out the "defense weapon of choice" and maintain proficiency. Trigger queeze goes all to hell if I shoot only the AK47.

The gen2 buffers are stamp cut for uniformity and they are slightly longer to cover more of the impact area.

Thank's for the quick reply
I can hardly wait to try them out on my SAR1
After only 200 rounds I can see the pattern of damage starting,
looks like a bradded pattern on the face of the rear trunion,
You can see it starting on the rear of the bolt carrier as well.

My son has a ROMAK 99.1 that has maybe 5000 rounds through it,
the damage is very noticeable. He didn't know about the buffers
until I told him and now he is interested.

WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY NEW YEAR
BE SAFE AND MAY GOD BLESS

Absolutely the best AK buffer deal I've seen around. They look good, lighten recoil, and extend your rifle service life too. Also the best guy I've dealt with on the internet. BlackJack went thru the trouble of sending me a replacment pack when the original shipment got lost in transit. He did it right away, no questions asked, no hassles, and over Christmas too! Absolutely an honorable guy who cares about his customers and product!

I'd buy from him again, if these Red Urethane buffers ever wear out, which I doubt for many hundreds, if not thousands of rounds. :)

BTW, if it matters, I'm not a HIGH VOLUME shooter - meaning that I might shoot 100 rounds at a time, maybe 15-20 times/yr. In other words, I'm not a weekend junkie who will shoot 500 rounds in a single session.

Thanks.

Thank you all again for your patriotism and support. I've sold close to 700 of these so far  in about 6 months and still going strong. Ok. Here is my review.

Blackjack sent me two buffers, a red and a blue one. After an hour of playing with them (Bending, typing with it, sticking it on my pencil.... they are ADDICTIVE! You can't stop playing with them! ) I threw them into the guns. The red one is a tougher one, and the blue one is much softer. Both appear to be cut from urethane, and have a pretty nice overall finish and workmanship.

I installed the red one in a SAR 1. After 5k rounds at full auto, it doesn't even look worn at all. It takes a good bit of the "Clack" out of the action, and takes a little bit of the edge off of the recoil when using the side folder. It installed without a problem (Took all of 30 seconds) and did not shift at all. It sped up the cycle rate a VERY VERY slight amount compared to no buffer. After being used in the SAR, I installed it in a Krink and got the same results. It has VERY very light wear marks on it now, and it has around 10k rounds on it. I'd use this one on your common everyday shooter, and in any AK you own.

The blue one is more for your baby. The gun you would rather cut your nuts off than see get damaged in any way, but yet you want to shoot it. It was a little harder to install (About 1 minute) because it kept bending at the top. After 8k rounds in a SAR 1, 500 rounds in a SAR 3, and 800 rounds in a Krink, it is showing a bit of wear, but it is tolerating it very nicely. I would say it has roughly half the lifespan of the red buffer, which is still an eternity. It was very hard to tell when I had it installed by rate of fire, but it made a BIG difference on clack and recoil bite.

With a little trimming for one gun to work (Wouldn't strip a round) I found I got excellent results by using BOTH buffers. The red one on top of the blue one. The red takes all the abuse from the bolt and the blue takes all the kinetic energy.

Both handle normal bore cleaning solvents and oils. Be sure to remove them if using brake cleaner or any other trichloroethane/ethylene cleaner in your action. Clean them buffers with soap and water.

Conclusion?

A++! They work really well, and are a necessity to have in an AK/AK clone IMHO. If Kalishlakov knew what he does now and had the materials at the time, he would have one of these installed on every AK.

Yes they work, the action will be smoother and quieter and you will be protecting aginst the metal to metal impact damage that occurs. It looks like the SKS will be the next buffer I provide followed by the FAL. It going to be a while yet before I get to the H&K.

# Verify firearm is unloaded
# Remove receiver cover, recoil spring and old safety lever
# Reinstall new SWIFT safety lever
# Depending on the type of disconnector in your AK, the new SWIFT lever may or may not be able to be installed without removing the trigger group. If your disconnector still has the rear tab, the safety tab may hit the disconnector and not rotate down and lock into place.

I also have a few of the BHO followers available again.

i think ak buffer are much better than oyhers because these buffers are an easy and inexpensive way to eliminate damage of critical components by preventing the metal to metal contact of the slide or breech block with the frame.
