Does anyone own a Helwan Brigadier 9mm. I have one that is decent shooter (that's all I bought for.) but it has one problem. The extractor pin tends to creep up and out of its slide hole. The gun is good other than that and the mag floorplates are a little soft. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

I am not familar with this pistol, so I might be way off.....but you might clean that area with any degreaser, and add a drop of locktite (red) thread locker. This is the stuff that says it is for studs, and it won't let go unless you apply heat.
If you do it this way you will likely not see any repair marks at all.
Any car part store will have it in stock too.
All the other ways I can think of would require altering one or more parts. For example alter the pin by distorting it, or altering the slide by center punching around the area where the pin is to upset the hole over the pin.......Mac

Thanks Mac_Muz. I have given some thought to that idea. I just wanted make sure it would be safe to the shooter as well as the weapon. Theyr'e shouldn't be any reason for movement in the extractor pin I wouldn't think. Thanks again.

I second the lock tite though it works better on threaded metal.

I'll try the Loc tite guys and let you know Monday. I'll be in test fire mode this weekend.

Wish I could see this pin. My guess is that the pin is stuck to the extrator, and so pivots with the extractor, which has caused it to become loose sorta...if the loktite works great, if not then I might try it again but move the extractor while the loktite sets up. At least you won't damage any parts. I always try to fix the least to gain the most. No sence twistin off a bolt if ya don't have to, and you almost never have to....

Mac_Muz,
Looking at the top of the slide, there is a small hole over the extractor. This is where the pin slides into, and out of, unfortunately. This pin holds the extractor in place. Then as I fire, the pin creeps upward. I just push it back down and continue so that it doesn't completely come out. The overall pistol is a copy of the Beretta model 52. It was manufactured in Egypt. Hope this helps.
Thanks

it would not happen to be a roll pin? I think my WW-2 vintage Remington Rand has a roll pin. if it is that let that bugger rise up, and when it does mic it. Then just get a new one a few tho bigger. But my bet still is that the pin is/was stuck to the extractor. And I bet the loktite will work....(I hope) Mac
